Your Destiny As An Entrepreneur

Why is it important for you to follow your heart, and pursue your dream – your destiny – of being an entrepreneur?

Why does it matter if you start your business, or hang out your shingle as freelancer?

It's because the desires of your heart are placed within you by your Creator.

What has tragically happened: men of questionable motives have, over the years, managed to teach entrepreneurs that they are somehow greedy, evil, “fat capitalists”.

This is one of the most destructive deceptions in history.

Entrepreneurs provide the fuel that pays for and constructs roads, buildings, infrastructure, products, services… in short, everything we think of as integral to modern society.

Yes, some may get rich in the process.

Why do we accept that there's something wrong with that? Is it because certain elements of the media have tried to convince us that this is so?

For instance, one particular movie director comes to mind, who is adamantly opposed to “big business”.

Yet he himself is in fact a “big business”.

This particular movie director came out in support of the “occupy main street” movement in recent months, a movement which purported to point out the unfairness of the 1% having so much of the wealth in our society.

Our movie director friend never seemed to realize the irony that he himself is part of the 1% he was so quick to criticize.

Here is where I'm headed with this…

Being successful in business is, in of itself, fundamentally good.

It's good to be rich. I believe God wants us to be. Why would I say that? Well, think about this…

The best way to help the poor is to start by not being one of them.

We can only give generously out of abundance.

What if you believed that your desire to be successful was, in of itself, fundamentally good? Even if you don't give all your money away.?

What if you realized that creating a business, and making a profit, means that you supply jobs to employees, money to vendors who support their businesses and families, money that will be distributed throughout the economy to grocery stores, daycare centers, and other businesses?

What if you realized that the ripple effect of your creative endeavors was limitless?

What if that's what God intended?

What if every dollar you receive is a certificate proving the value of your service to your fellow humans?

What if?
