One way to help the poor is to roll up your sleeves and help them one by one.
Cook them meals.
Build them houses.
Spend time with them.
Another way to help the poor is to create enough wealth that instead of merely helping a few people, you can help many.
The TV show “Secret Millionaire” illustrates the power of this beautifully. While the “undercover millionaires” dress casually and dole out food or do other volunteer work, and we see that this is admirable…
…we also see that the impact of donating their wealth has far-reaching effects to help many people, instead of only a few.
Not everyone is called to be an entrepreneur. Some are called to work with individuals. Both callings are important.
The key for those of us called to, and gifted with, the building of wealth is to remember wealth's purpose… to serve the Kingdom of God.
If we have settled in our heart the fact that money is not our God, but is in fact to be used to serve Him, we have true wealth.
